India crush Pakistan by seven wickets in Women’s T20 Asia Cup clash in Dubai
Green Shirts face Hong Kong while Women in Blue await semi-final opponents
DUBAI – India produced a dominant bowling display before completing a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai on Saturday.
Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 in 18.1 overs after opting to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India then chased down the modest target in 10.4 overs, reaching 56 for three to maintain their unbeaten start to the tournament.

The defeat leaves Pakistan with one win and one loss from their opening two Group A matches. India, meanwhile, had already beaten Thailand and Hong Kong, China, and entered the contest as group leaders following convincing victories in their first two outings.
Batting collapse
Pakistan made a steady start, reaching 27 for one, but their innings quickly unravelled as India struck at regular intervals. The Green Shirts lost their final nine wickets for only 28 runs, with the entire side dismissed for 55 in 18.1 overs.
Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with 14 from 14 balls, while wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali made 13 from 15 deliveries. Tuba Hassan added nine, but Pakistan's remaining batters struggled to cope with India's disciplined attack.
Sree Charani was the pick of the Indian bowlers, finishing with three wickets for seven runs, while Prema Rawat also claimed three wickets, conceding nine runs. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma took a wicket apiece as India's bowling unit kept Pakistan under sustained pressure.
The 55-run total was Pakistan's lowest in women's T20 internationals, underlining the extent of the batting collapse.
Comfortable chase
India needed only 56 runs for victory and completed the chase without serious difficulty, reaching 56 for three in 10.4 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led the scoring with 18, while Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma contributed 12 each. India's batters kept the required rate under control as Pakistan struggled to generate enough pressure with the ball.
The result extends India's perfect start in Group A, having previously defeated Thailand by 94 runs and Hong Kong, China, by 137 runs. Smriti Mandhana had also hit a record-breaking 124 against Hong Kong, becoming the leading run-scorer in women's international cricket across formats.
Pakistan had begun their campaign with a 35-run victory over Thailand on September 1, with Muneeba Ali scoring 54 and Sadia Iqbal taking three wickets.
Pakistan's next Group A match is against Hong Kong, China, on September 7, while India will continue their campaign as they seek to maintain their position at the top of the group.
